If you’re lookin’ to buy a gold pan, well, I reckon you’re in the right place. There’s a whole mess of ways to get yourself one, whether you’re just startin’ out on a hobby or you’ve been panning for gold like it’s second nature. I ain’t no expert, but I’ve heard a thing or two about where folks can find themselves a good ol’ gold pan.
Now, first things first. You can always check Amazon. Yep, they’ve got a whole listin’ of gold pans from all sorts of brands. I seen as many as 16 different kinds poppin’ up, from the cheap ones that might just get you started, to the fancy ones that’ll hold up through thick and thin. I ain’t sayin’ you gotta buy the priciest one, but don’t go too cheap either – you’ll end up with a pan that don’t do much of nothin’ at all.
If you’re lookin’ for somethin’ more specialized, maybe High Plains Wholesale might be your friend. They sell gold prospectin’ gear wholesale, but don’t go thinkin’ you need to buy in bulk. They’ll drop ship even small orders. So, if you’re serious and need a bunch of stuff, like pans or sluices, they got what you need. You might not be able to buy straight from them unless you’re a dealer, but they sure know where to find good quality gear.
Now, you might ask me, “Where’s the best place to buy a gold pan?” Well, it’s kind of like askin’ where’s the best place to catch a fish. There ain’t no one-size-fits-all answer. Some folks prefer the Proline Professional pans. It’s a good light one, but I hear some say the color’s too bright. I reckon you want a darker color so you can spot the gold better. A lotta folks like black – and trust me, you’ll need that dark color to see them little shiny flecks of gold. You can find those direct from the manufacturer, too, so you ain’t dealin’ with no middleman.
If you’re willin’ to travel, places like Alaska are known for havin’ gold in them there hills. Folks head out to areas just east of Cape Yakataga where you can dig and pan for gold, sometimes gettin’ a few grains in just half an hour. And if you’re really serious, I hear they even use sluices to get more gold outta the dirt. But I reckon you don’t have to go all the way to Alaska to get yourself started. There’s plenty of places right here where you can pan for gold. It don’t hurt to try!
And if you ain’t too keen on the fancy stuff, there’s the ol’ traditional gold pan – a batea, that’s what they call it in Spanish. It’s usually made from wood and shaped a bit different than the modern ones you might see. It’s a bit more old-fashioned, but still gets the job done. Might take a little longer, but sometimes it’s the simple things that do the best work.
So, where can you buy one? Well, I reckon the places I mentioned are a good start. Don’t forget to check local stores that sell outdoors gear too, they might have some good deals on pans. If you’re not sure, ask around – some of them old-timers at the local stores might just point you in the right direction. After all, everyone loves a bit of gold, and the right tools can make all the difference.
Happy panning, and may your pans be heavy with gold!
